Leather book bindings
By picking the leather book binding option, you can emboss the title, university logo, type of work, or an individualized design on the cover. The leather book binding is also known as hardcover binding or case binding. Further names for this binding include hardback binding and hardbound binding. Learn more information about leather book bindings below:
NOTE: The leather book binding only has an artificial leather look, but is not made of real leather.
Premium leather binding is the highest quality type when it comes to printing & binding. In addition, you have extensive options to refine your binding with further details. The most aesthetically pleasing refining detail is a customized embossing.
Compared to the premium leather binding, the textured surface of the standard leather book binding is shinier. Both versions can be embossed in black, silver, or gold. Paired with matching corners and a ribbon, the standard leather binding is a real eye-catcher.
Your leather book binding can be spiced up with book corners. These not only give your leather book binding an even higher quality appearance, but also protect the corners. With book corners as a finish, you can transport your work carefree or take it off the shelf as many times as you want without any damage arising!
Ribbon
The ribbon as an additional gadget for the leather book binding not only looks chic, but also functions as a protection. A reading ribbon signals that your thesis is special and invites you to read, at the same time, your examiner will thank you if he can actually use the ribbon when reviewing your thesis.

To say I’m over the moon with BachelorPrint is an understatement. I spent hours trawling the internet for a printing company that offered corner borders, personalised cover design AND a ribbon - this was only one I could find.

The table below shows different book thicknesses for leather book binding listed by paper grade. The number of pages is based on 100 gsm (premium-standard) and 120 gsm paper weight standards. It should be noted that we recommend 120 gsm paper for double-sided printing. It is possible to print up to 470 sides with the 120 gsm paper and up to 500 sides with the 100 gsm paper. Head over to the print shop, upload your thesis, and use the 3D configurator to see what it will look like once printed.

There are two different types of leather book binding: one is standard leather binding, which has a shiny and smooth surface, and the other is premium leather binding, which has a soft and textured faux leather look. Both of these bindings can be embossed with the title of your thesis, Ph.D., or dissertation. This is called leather binding embossing.
Leather book binding is used primarily for larger and more significant pieces of work. Thanks to the book-like appearance and the high quality, robust cover, your work will stand out from the rest.
We recommend leather binding for the following types of academic work:
Leather book binding consists of two cardboard sheets for the front and back covers and a cardboard strip for the spine. The cardboard elements are then covered with leather binding. The material differs from premium to standard leather binding.
The pages are glued together along with two stable end pages, and then glued to the leather binding. You can configure your thesis in the online print shop to fit your personal preferences.
